Getting Started with RescueNet Remote Access Support
- 1. Call us
You will need to give us a call on 0800 944 844 to get started as we need to verify your computer issues can be solved remotely, and be ready to start the process from our end. We can guide you through the easy process over the phone.
- 2. Download the program file
Download the program file. Users of Windows XP click here. Users of Windows Vista click here.
If you have not already got the RescueNet icon on your desktop (looks similar to the icon on the right). You will need to download it to your desktop. Right-click on the download link above and select ‘Save Target As’ and then save it to the desktop navigating to the desktop in the dialog box and clicking ‘Save’
If you are having trouble downloading the files but still have access to email, we can send you the RescueNet file via email. Give us a call on 0800 944 844.
It is a good idea to leave the RescueNet file on your desktop for future use. This is completely safe as it will only connect to our office when you run the program and then double-click on a technician number. At Future PC we ensure that our clients computers and networks are never exposed to unnecessary threats and wish to confirm that RescueNet does not compromise your security.
- 3. Call us and run the software
When you are ready, give us a call ( 0800 944 844) to get the process started
icon.gifTo begin, just double-click the RescueNet icon on your desktop. This icon should look similar to the one that appears to the right. If your internet browser gives you a warning about running executable files, just click OK or Run to continue.
A dialog box like the one below should pop up. You will need to double-click on the ‘Future PC Technician’ option that the technician asks you to.
A little icon like the one on the left in the illustration below should appear, along with the information bubble.
After the connection has been established, the icon will change so that it has a green colour, like the icon in the illustration below. While this icon appears and has a green colour, we can access and control your desktop. If the icon is not there and the software is not running, we no longer have access to your desktop.
